NEO is an ecosystem in itself, where people can trade digital assets like Bitcoin or real assets freely and directly without any central third party authority.

It seems to me that NEO as a crypto currency has already outlived itself. As a project, it costs a lot, but it needs popularity and money. And now with this some problems. We have to wait a couple of years, then NEO will show us something else.
