I do like the mushroom cloud idea though. Even, if its just a colored version at 5k reports.

But the nuke seems a bit ominous to me though. I think it will confuse a lot of users too, especially newcomers who aren't aware of 'nuking' here. I can imagine all the 'what the hell is this symbol' threads haha.

I like the military chevrons. Maybe instead of the same but different colours you could just get an additional chevron each time you move up a rank like I believe they do in the military. Ie one chevron for 300 good reports, two chevrons for 1000 etc. More could easily be added as needed as well.

Maybe give badges out for very high amounts of merit as well. I mentioned in another thread today that maybe some sort of additional demi-rank or other such title or badge could be given to people who earn large amounts of merit. 1000, 2000, 4000 etc. I think people who contribute a lot of meritable posts should stand out from the rest or be rewarded in such fashion.
I suggest getting a Holmes badge when you reach a certain number "300 report", then changing the color every level.
