Shadow bans: They only(used to) apply to newbies. It was called newbie jail. People had to be logged in like for 4 hours(continously(?)), and get automatically/manually whitelisted by mods.

Also, when seclog mentions wake up, it may or may not be related to account "block".
Nowadays accounts don't get autolocked anymore, as in if someone becomes inactive now, they don't get their accounts auto-locked,only accounts that became inactive prior to the 2015 hack, got their accounts autolocked, although a few accounts got manually locked by theymos(satoshi and Hal Finney's accounts come to mind).
