They havent change it yet, theyre just considering the change. The reason is that the Ethereums transaction cost is too high, its unacceptable for them.

What other options do they have?

The blog mentions EOS so far, but some other blockchains are being considered now, too. They said that once they make a decision theyd tell the community about it in their blog, social networks and etc.
