Litecoin mining is very profitable right now.. and you can be in the game without spending a ton of coin on ASIC rigs that have their value cut in half in 15 days time.

which also means that GPUs have resale value when it is time to replace them. While your ASICs are basically a pile of toxic junk after a few months, after difficulty has risen enough to make them unprofitable...
