I agree with you. Advertising is needed only to attract attention for some time. Then everything depends on the project itself, its ideas and how the team will be able to implement it

For a quick start and easy promotion team will have more than one month to allocate money for a strong advertising campaign.

Even if you have a good product nobody will know about the product without the advertising. So the advertising is necessary for promotion in all the cases.
