I think if you can't afford to buy in a high price maybe you can buy by little by little till you reach your goal of price. And of course its good time to buy of alternative vmcoins even the price of bitcoin is on high price.

For long term goals, buying little by little until you achieved your target amount is very achievable, you need to have a concrete plan despite with the current market, if you know when to make a good entry with such project never to lose that opportunity, bitcoin is for long term while alts can be ride
when the market condition is favoring the coins.
