So, I am yet to figure out how to receive Bitcoin payments (which is why I want to get some Bitcoins, so I can experience it and learn). Any direction on how to receive the Bitcoins would also be appreciated.

Just post your wallet address somewhere. Anyone can send BTC to that wallet address. If you have two wallet addresses, you can use either.
