"modern science" and the scientific method are divorced, the "system" around you, government, school, media, social, etc... is designed almost exclusively around pre-conditioning your mind to reject any concepts, ideas and information conveyed in the bible as being in error. This bullshit is mixed in with actual science to create "modern science" for public consumption through the media, education system and more.

There error here is, for one example the fisheye lens; you spend your entire waking life believing all those pictures are earth curvature because we're on a globe. There are hundreds, if not thousands more examples just like this and they all work together towards the end goal of pre-conditioning your mind. With pictures of globe earth as proof of truth, you hit that bible and you're just going to flat-out reject it as nonsense. The exception being of course is, you having faith in the church and pope and how, god created a big bang and that space rocks from the explosion formed balls of lava that cooled into dinosaurs who laid eggs that hatched monkeys who gave birth to man.
