You wont have to worry about any lag. We get the traders data from the exchange multiple times per second and can, therefore, execute the order within a blink.

We are planning to implement a voting system which will limit the maximum number of followers per trader in order to ensure that the followers can get the same prices as the trader. So if the trader has a really bad reputation because of the votes he wont be able to have any followers.
