Not all gamblers are serious with what they are doing, hence they cannot be addicted if they will only play occasionally.

You are absolutely right, only a small part of gamblers are addicted to it while most gamblers play from time to time giving not much significance to the process. I don't understand why people keep saying that most gamblers are addicted. Can't they google the issue themselves? According to various statistics only from 2% to 5% of all gamblers have gambling problems of this or that kind. The most extreme number in this regard I came across with was 11.5%, and it was about gamblers using fixed-odds betting terminals in the UK. Only among gamblers that use those particular terminals the percentage of addicted ones is 11.5%. And this percentage is still far from being called the majority.

Gambling addiction is a serious problem, and millions of people suffer from it, but we should stick with the facts if we want to resolve it.
