If you can get coins from other reputed exchanges then it is better to avoid Hitbtc because support is not good if you face any issues. I heard similar things. HitBTC customer services are reported to be not very good either.

Just don't use it as a wallet for the storage of your coins and you'll be fine. I do regularly use HitBTC for buying a few alts (not trading), and never face any issue(s); deposit, buy your coin, and withdraw it; it's a bit risky to sleep while your funds are in HitBTC's database, so don't do it and you should be fine.

But if I'm not wrong they got a very high withdrawal fee for some altcoins right?

That's the reason I brought and hold coins for a while and then sold it for a profit and convert those coins to bitcoins and withdrawn to my account. That's why I go there only to buy coins which are not available in other exchanges.
