Exactly. This is kind off curse when it comes to loans and selling personal property for the sake of gambling. That is really an ugly side of gambling. I think that is the reason why it is banned in many countries around the world. In addition, there could be more ways of making the money and not only gambling if it leads to addiction so yes one should be aware of the gambling addiction.

There should be limitation in everything and gambling is very prone for addiction. If you do actions like this, hurting your familys future, then you must consider yourself as addict. Its hard to stop on that level, but there still a chance for everything if you want to, so better to have someone to guide you.

Its your money and you have full control over it on where to spend it and how to use it. Since you earn the money, you own it and can spend it in any way. It can be spend on gambling or any other investments.

The problem starts when you do not have the money and still you want to play gambling. For this purpose you take loans and/or even try to get money from illegal means. This is where the addictions starts and we should stop our self from such acts.
