This is really a problem. altcoins with no potential to die like that and other exchanges do not want to help it.
I think you should wait and sell for those who want to purchase bad altcoins.

Is that another form of business going on within the cryptocurrency world that I am not aware of ?

If not, I really doubt if any sane person will see a project without future and has even proven itself week by dying off the market, then someone purchasing it. Like you said yourself, if other available exchanges are not willing to help, how then will the buyer make use of it, once a coin is bad, its bad, it can never be revived again.
