well, your case is like an addiction to trading. you don't trade to earn money for something but you trade just because you want to enjoy the process I guess.
try the following thing: set a goal for your trading like you want to buy something, let's say a new tv or something like that. so your trading goal is a price of that TV. try to reach that goal during a monthm then buy that TV.
just make a goal for your trading and set time period. you will enjoy trading and you will keep in mind that you just earn money by doing thing you like. nothing more

This thing something to believe that we need encouragement in order to push our self to work hard. Yes you may right, as almost traders aiming for something in returns and so they'll put to much time in trading rather than of the other things. It is really working if we are eager'ed to it, not for our self but for the future.

I wouldn`t call that addiction, it`s just too much sitting and watching monitors, numbers changing. I think it`s not
even something serious, he could just spent few hours everyday in some park, playing some sport. Too much of anything
is not good for us people. You need to earn enough, too little or too much can make you a problems, same is with everything
else. Just be moderate in everything you do and you will be fine.
