My intelligent guess is Satoshi died before Satoshi can reveal the identity and got anonymous forever.
I don't think he died I think that if he reveals himself a lot of government agency will be busy hunting him that why he stayed anonymous. He is the head and founder of bitcoin which have a global impact among the government.
If he reveals himself then for sure he will die as even CIA is interested in this technology same as those illegal humans
