The reason is clear and straight, as BTC is stable compare to rest of the coins. So if the price went down then it would not be a huge loss.

And maybe OP is trying to talk about 10,000 USD but put in a dot instead of comma between 10 and the last three zeros which would make you a bit more curious as how to take care of this much capital and to get it apportioned among many coins and go for it. But a wise selection could really lead one to a good return from the investment and when the market is favorable too, it is worth putting in $10k.
