Yeah I know a change in the rules or cap in numbers is required.

Just my 2cts :

A Champagne can't be Italian because it is a "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée" from France (and only from France). It can't be used in any other countries in the world. Wink

Italian champagne is something to make the rest of the world understand want Italian Spumante is.
Everybody knows Spumante is better than champagne, like in general regarding every aspect of life Italian is better than French (beside snails and frogs..) but you know, French are better marketer....

Hahaha. You know I am french (but expat since many years). I really love Italy in general : food, people, places and atmospheres etc.. But you can't tell that a Spumante is better than a "standard" Champagne. Spumante is too sweet, too low in alcohol, maybe good for a teenager.

It's like your saying that a basic red wine from Germany or Austria is better than a Barolo (as you like IT Wink

)
