What is the first character for your addresses in both bitpay and the wallet you just got on Electrum? (3, 1 or btc1?)

the one Electrum gave me when I added the private key is different, it is 18RevLMXf5hvzrCVQKj7Koc4CR16fAqhjJ

I tried to do a sweep of the priv key but that option wont work.

if I do a add the wallet using the bitpay wallet address, I can see the transactions however, they are view only. So, I do not think I can then sign them because that would make zero sense if anyone could just add a wallet address.
