Well I can partly agree to your addendum because all altcoins are dependent on the value of bitcoin. But recent developments have shown btc rising and altcoins falling. Aside from that, if any alt will rise it is somehow fully dependent on the works put in by the project team and its community

That's because the pump from Bitcoin itself shows a very strong trade dominance. it's like altcoin coins that do their own pumps. overall the market is still affected by the bitcoin movement. therefore when bitcoin goes down then all altcoins also decline.

Altcoins are not anymore an option to save the value of our money if bitcoin will dump because they do follow the action.
Unlike before when altcoins were able to compete with bitcoin, we can easily buy altcoins once bitcoin dump and just transfer when it pump again, now it's really different and it seems like more people are just trying to trade on a safer coin in the market, which is bitcoin.
