That's another tactic the scammer used. He usually gave winnings to a circle of accounts that were managed by him. When you try to compare the losses of the accounts to wins, the wins would be more. He did this to entice his victims.

I agree with you. The trustworthiness of the site owner is important. However, some crypto noobs are so impatient when they have coins in their possessions, especially if they were into punting before. I felt bad for my friend because he didn't make efforts to learn about the website, he concluded that since it was popular in the steem community, so it is legitimate. Sadly, the owner was using a pseudonym.
