You must not be surprised by this scenario specially the year you posted this 2018 when all of the cryptocurrency dumped even the mighty bitcoin.and asking about the fundamental reason?you have already answered that others are dumping maybe because they believe market will continue falling or they have decided to change folio so theres no other reason to hold on

It's most likely the latter. Most Whales are moving bulk of their cryptocurrency investments to Bitcoin and maybe to one or few established Altcoins. Most coins aren't living up to expectations and investors are losing interest.
It's also possible that investors are no longer able to buy the coins easily due to new regulations
