Bitcoin cash was coming out for the first time in 2017 summer and because of that everyone moved their money to bitcoin from altcoins so they could have free bitcoin cash in return of keeping their coins on their wallets.

Considering that reason is as solid as any there was a reason why bitcoin had high dominance, that didn't resulted with bitcoin getting higher in price, it resulted with people going back to altcoins once again when the deal was done, only after couple of months bitcoin price started to go up. Hence I think they were not related.

15 December 2018 price for one bitcoin was 3,195 dollars. That price is the bottom, before that price was higher, after that price raised, after 15 December we didn`t see bitcoin price at that level again.
26 June 2019 price for one bitcoin was 12,947 dollars, last known top!
In just 6 months price went up for more than 9500 dollars, it`s 300% rise. So bitcoin had 70%+ and much more many times, this year too.
