Change a few names and just imagine the outrage:
Trump Jr gets put on board of Ukraine power Co, for lots of money with no qualifying experience. Some Ukraine lawyer opens investigation into that company. Trump Sr calls and tells Ukraine Pres that investigator needs fired, or else US will withhold aid funding. Investigator get fired, Ukraine gets US tax dollars, Trump Jr keeps wealthy position.
How do you think that would play out.

They are already desperately trying to manufacture this false equivalence with Parnas and Fruman even though it is guilt via association, and the money that went to the Trump PAC was put in a segregated bank account and not spent, indicating they suspected it was illicit and were working to wrap them up and get them to turn states evidence.
