Lets talk about "official" as well, that word implies a sense of centralisation, the point of cryptos is decentralisation, control is in the hands of the community majority.

I understand where you're coming from here, and Vertcoin certainly isn't going to start getting officious or centralized, but if any project is going to have a direction to it, that requires that some people who work on it make some choices. You can't do everything by consensus, it just doesn't work - too much time gets spent discussing things and not enough action gets taken.

Also re the logo, it's just not possible to create something everyone will like - I personally really like it, but mainly, as someone said a way back in the thread, sometimes you have to keep the engineers away from the bullhorn; the new logo comes from a professional designer with a wealth of experience, so even if I didn't personally like it, I'd probably defer to his greater knowledge and experience - some things are just best left to people who are specialists.

As someone who works professionally in a creative industry, I fully understand the need for clear direction.

If you look at the comments on reddit re: the new logo. I can't see any positive professional opinion there.

It seems to me that people who don't have experience in design have made the decision to go ahead with this logo, no offence personally to the designer of that, but this looks like a draft, its not been through a review process by other design professionals.
