Forum names or profile links are not top secret. Also the account as you claim is not under your control, you may want a DT to leave a feedback on it to deter people from dealing with the account.
A signature is necessary to prove you're the original owner of the account, it's possible to get your account recovered without it in some cases if you still have the original email address used to register the account.
We've streamlined our processes, and Cyrus has put together a team for handling these cases, so account recoveries should now be handled at a reasonable pace again. Additionally, we will be somewhat more lenient in recovering accounts without signatures, though signatures often will still be required, depending on the situation.
