I do not really see how the next year is going to be positive for altcoins, during the next year all the attention is going to be on bitcoin, if the halving brings the growth that everyone is expecting then you can be sure that altcoins are going to go down but in the case the halving does not cause the growth the community wants then the price of altcoins will go down as well as investors get scared and decide to get out of the market and look for better opportunities to make money.
