They have that here. Its a revered delicacy called "balut." Its a whole experience. Quite often a balut man parks a bicycle in a well-traveled spot with a cooler full of them. Then people come by and eat the whole thing right there, using the balut man's sauces, and then rag to clean the shmutz off their fingers afterward.

My girlfriend used to love it until one time she found almost a full chick in an egg, complete with hair and other hardened parts, like bone and cartilage. Now she almost hurls just thinking about it.

I usually avoid street foods, unless its something like fried bananas or donuts. I've been lucky to avoid food poisoning after 3 years, though one time when I ordered a fountain soda from a popular chicken place I had pretty bad stomach pains for a couple days afterward. They must have been using tap water to mix their soda, which is a big no-no.
