Having a long term investment in an exchanger is not recommended because a lot of exchangers could stop their operation because they are bankrupt and you are going to lose your investment their if you are not aware. There are lots of exchangers wherein you can buy bitcoin and any other cryptocurrency but before buying you should do a background check to every exchange you chose and see if there are some reports that other buyers have experienced scams when they bought or they lose their money when they deposit. Hackers and scammers are out there so if you don't be aware of every decision or step you make, you can totally lose your money.
