If you need your money, don't make it as your investment. Only excessive income can give you in investment. Don't hold bitcoin because anytime it may fluctuate. If you need in February 22 and you need it really then sell it now. Until the value of bitcoin is high, you need to dispose it. I think 1.2 is a big cash and you will regret it once it lose its price.

I think this is his investment then suddenly an emergency situation just happened. So, he has nothing to fund for it so he is having a second thought if he will use his investment or not. But as you said, if he really needs it, he can sell it for his own good, then again this might be his biggest regret in the future.
