I can see the argument that if it were tougher to hit it might draw in more players after it gets that big.
The games are obviously better the bigger it gets, but I think part of what draws players in is knowing that they have a realistic chance to win... or at least be at the table when it hits. You know that there's a real chance that it could hit at any time.
That seems to be what gets players that don't even usually play cash games to join. If the qualifier were tougher and it had only hit a couple times in the 14+ months since they launched I don't know if those players would continue to grind it out.
I'm happy with it either way. If it gets back up over a million that's great and will draw players in. And if it were to hit now that would be more evidence that anyone can hit it at any time and players shouldn't think "I'll wait until it gets bigger to play".
...I still think you should consider increasing the lowest qualifying hand to at least 2222.
If the site had 1000 players online at all times, then I would agree with you. Fact of the matter is, they have maybe 50 guys online playing most times. These users play multiple tables and contribute to the rake pretty evenly, so letting them win a little of their money back with the BBJ as is, is fine.
