You're correct that our national soccer league is MLS but I was talking about the English Premier League, which I believe is more popular here than MLS. At least as far television ratings are concerned. MLS is fun, but most of those teams are a far cry from the teams of the English and Spanish leagues. LAFC, which is the newest club in the MLS has been fun to watch. Don't get me wrong, there are quite a few MLS fans. But, I get the impression that any MLS fan is also an EPL fan, but not necessarily the other way around. I think there are quite a few La Liga fans as well, but I don't follow the Spaniards at all.
This is something new for me, I did not know that EPL is that popular in USA however I know EPL and some other European leagues have good market around the world including middle east and the east.
Landon Donovan is one of the player from USA who I think got good exposure from his WC performance and back in the days, to watch him I used to watch some of the MLS matches but now a days I don't. The last time I have had interest on them when I heard Zlatan Ibrahimovic was there. And he already moved to AC Milan.
