What do you mean by "top altcoins"? Each of us analyzes projects based on our own understanding of the blockchain industry. Therefore, coins in crypto portfolio are different for everyone, but if you ask a person, he will say that his coins are top. So the advice is partially meaningless))

But I believe, by top altcoins most of this community people are referring to highly reputed altcoins like ethereum, litecoin and dash. There will be no wonder that people are mentioning about top coins. Because, most of the people here are following coinamrketcap ranking and they are believing the top coins are ones which are getting higher rank in coinamrketcap.

Honestly, I'm not following coinamrketcap for my investment purposes because there are a lot of manipulations are happening within coinamrketcap and anyone making decision based on coinamrketcap must be taking more risk as per my experience.
