In a land-based casino you are surely more inclined to drinking more alcohol, smoking more cigarettes and making higher bets than when sitting at home and gambling online. I'm not trying to say that you can't drink, smoke and risk amounts you can't afford to lose while playing from home, but this is less likely, imo.

Regarding theft, it's unrelated to gambling. You either do it or you don't, regardless of whether you are poor, rich, gambler or a Catholic priest.

For gamblers online, it's not necessary to drink at home, we can do it outside after we gamble.
I'll give an example, if you are betting in sports, it does not take a lot of time to gamble, and after you bet, you can go hang out with your friends and watch the game/s you bet on while drinking, sometimes it would be more fun as long as you will prevent yourself from getting tempted to do live betting.
