The university courses I checked out, are misguided at best. They don't distinguish Bitcoin from replicated linked list.

That's like a biologist not seeing being able to distinguish a rhino from a pebble.

And there are only two explanations for tis, the first one is that the course itself is not worth your time since they do not eve know the difference in which case you should not try to enroll in such courses as it is just a waste of time, the other possibility is that they are trying to actively deceive people and they are trying to purposely separate the concept of blockchain and bitcoin, and while they are not the same thing the blockchain would not have been created if satoshi did not had something like bitcoin in mind.
