But then the question arises what is the point in removing the Poster of the site in the first page ? The site may go down in maintenance mode but this does not mean that you remove the ANN details which are already published. A better option is to restore the ANN Poster and lock this thread until the maintenance period is over.
It could be because some users won't bother reading and just go straight to the website provided in the OP. I personally don't have any issue with them taking down removing their ANN tbh. You can find them from LoyceV's archive anyway
