For your info, BTC is being used in different shops too, afaik, some alts are also accepted. 2. I would prefer BTC at the first place. Although the scalability is an issue yet, BTC is the most decentralized currency so far. If I were to choose an altcoin, I would prefer LTC. It's another version of BTC too.

The answer is clear. To gain faith in altcoins, you need to know the clear uses of altcoins. If these parts cannot be resolved, altcoin will die. Investors want a clear profit model.
