Yes, it is making waves right now, and this brings with it some danger that a lot of people might just allow themselves to be caught by these huge waves without doing the necessary research and familiarization of what they are actually getting into. DeFi is being proclaimed everywhere as if its coming is kind of messianic and that it will destroy very easily the established yet obsolete traditional finance.

DeFi's arrival is like the ICO arrival a few years ago. There's much hype and noise all around. But no less than Ethereum's Vitalik Buterin is warning people about DeFi's risks. If people want to invest in DeFi, the investment amount should be not beyond what they can afford to lose.
