Blockchain.info provides an API for sites to use when handling Bitcoin transactions. Many sites use it, as it's far simpler to set up than monitoring a local bitcoind. Problem is that if Blockchain.info stops functioning properly, so do the sites that rely on it.

That's what I though... Well, if they don't fix it soon everybody is going to freak out big time. After Gox, everybody is on their nerves. Imagine all the people currently seeing their transactions vanish (not really, but almost nobody checks anything but BlockChain.info)
