Nowadays its very easy to fake their identity thats why its a must to do an extensive research not only for the team but for their whole project. If you see an indication that it can be a scam then have doubt and think carefully. There are many scam projects existing specially the new one thus I prefer to invest in a popular coins because they already prove their uses and worth.

If you spend so much time analyzing the project and its team, then it is easier and I think it will be even more profitable to invest in Ethereum.
