I don't think we've ever deliberately taken the site down. If it is unavailable it's either a DDoS or an infrastructure problem at the hosting facility.

Why would anyone ddos a free bitcoin website, I mean I get that people may want to do that to bigger places like facebook because there is an ethical war about them (giving our privacy info to people and all that) but I do not get why would anyone do that to here? The whole purpose of this website is to give people free money, something unique in this world and I do not think that I have seen anything similar in fiat world.
