I'm guessing the goal was to reach 18-24 year olds who don't follow politics and convince them to vote. I don't think her past really matters in terms of the election.

I guess so. Younger people do not vote as often but it seems like the Biden campaign was scrapping the bottom of the barrel by going for Cardi B. She has zero involvement in politics.

She supported Bernie and did a couple interviews with him, read an excerpt of that Michael Wolf book with Hillary Clinton, has been criticizing/insulting Trump and republicans pretty regularly for years and I think she said she's thinking about running for congress some day (she's offensive and has a shady past so obviously that could never happen).
