if you plan to run a faucet using altcoin you can use faucetpay
the faucet script is supported with bitcoin and 7 altcoin

when i start it i didnt even spend bitcoin I just make my direct faucet list and use a-ads with the earning i start my own faucet
you just need to limit the claim of user so that it will not be drain fast by a few user while you are waiting to get paid from referral and ads
im using the wordpress faucet script and it very easy to set up
they also have stand-alone faucet script but i never try it before so i cant give my opinion
