That's true. It depends on the alt you are following as each of them varies in the market performance.
A lot of them "can't ride" as most of them have no solid application and they are only relying with the traders.
The OP will realize later on that bitcoin and alt have their own market contributors.
And in terms of alts, it really depends on their respective development team.
How they are moving forward with their objectives and mission as a crypto project.
