So, there are not many coins in the market

Investors don't like to buy or hold any coin doesn't have any significant number of the trading volume. The 24-hour trading volume shows how many people like that project so it is very important. Its true low volume doesn't mark a project as dead but it identifies a low-quality project. If that project has a low volume for a long time that means its lack of investor's interest.
