Trump could try to do whatever he wants, at the end of the day there is 306 elected electoral voter that even 30 of them could abstain and it would still be Biden, as much as 15 could flip to Trump even though elected by democrats and still would be Biden, it is not even close.

Literally you are going to wait as much as you have to, nobody could argue that you "have to" pay because you "have to" do nothing, if at the day of inauguration you are still not paying while the whole world is literally watching Biden becoming president for real without doubt and you still do not pay, that could cause you some trouble, but as long as you wait until that moment that it is 100% official, you will not have any problems because so far everything is unofficial.

The biggest problem you are having right now is the fact that many places do end up paying for Biden winners and you didn't which obviously created some PR problems since you were compared to other places that paid up while you didn't, aside from that there is no problems for you if you ask me.
