Had an awesome 6 card R9 290 rig back in 2017. The thing ate around 1250w of electricity and hashed ca 31-32MH/s when mining Ethereum. Was fully water cooled with heat exchangers placed on balcony. Basically ran my rig near 20°C or even sub-ambient (condensation was annoying problem when this happened Grin

)

Electricity is kind of cheap here, so I paid 100eur per month for power and a good amount of profit was still made.

At first, only mined ETH, then some other coins, then ETN (mining this was crazy profitable) and final coins I mined were Cryptonote coins.
The times were different then though.
