One big advantage per se is of course Shift's migration to substrate, thus haveing THE top-notch tech backbone in crypto.
Another important point worth considering is that Shift will not only provide storage cloud solutions, but also web hosting.
It will be possible to connect conventionally readable domain names with ipfs hashes, so the end user will not recognize any difference to a conventionally hosted website. Furthermore, you will not need any dedicated browser or plugin to access these websites.

All of this was already demonstrated in the middle of 2019 by a demo launched on Shift's testnet - which is not available currently, but which will be launched again.
I don't know if you are aware, but Q4/2019 and Q1+2/2020 haven't been easy for Shift --> old team left, transition to the new team, no funding (non ICO project), putting the parts together again etc. ...

But the new team is doing a hell of a job, perspective is getting better and better!
