Thats the only option if you don't want to under Go in any KYC find a seller that will accept your payment option and need a 3rd party to secure your both transaction which is an escrow .
If you know you can trust an exchange with your identity why not under go in their KYC rules instead this will make it easier for your friend to buy crypto any time he want.
