There is a bootstrap daemon option that allows wallet to use a remote node while blockchain syncing. You can use the GUI as a lightwallet that way. Try it!

2. start Sumo Wallet
3. in GUI settings:

4. Sync only to 2801 and stack (wait ~15 min)
